October 19th, 2015 we again chartered a private bus to take us to the Pacific International Quilt Show in Santa Clara. We had loads of fun again this year and I think everyone enjoyed a fun day. We played Bingo in the morning on our way to the show and enjoyed a drink and breakfast roll. Lots of great quilting tools, patterns and gifts were won by a few lucky ones. We shopped ‘til we dropped at the show and enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful quilts. On the way home we then played some more Bingo while enjoying a cold drink and a snack. We watched a great movie on the return trip home too. It was great not having to stand in line, fight traffic or look for a parking space plus we got to just sit back, relax and enjoy a very easy commute. The bus driver was great too! He managed to find enough room for all the things that were bought at the show and even the FREE Bernina sewing machine that Marcia Scarberry won! If you didn't join us this year you should plan on coming with us next year as it is always FUN.
July 17, 2015 we enjoyed a trip to the Folsom History Museum for the 36th Annual Vintage Quilt and Clothing Exhibit: Hot Fads and Cool Trends in Cloth. We enjoyed looking at the antique quilts and clothing from the Gold Rush era. The shopping in Old Town Folsom was wonderful as there were many unique little boutiques and shops. We enjoyed lunch afterwards.
On June 25, 2015 we went on a trip to Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front Museum in Richmond and then enjoyed lunch afterwards. We had a tour of the museum, watched a movie and had some discussion time with some of the real Rosie's! The museum was great and the time we spend with the Rosie's was well worth the travel! These ladies regaled us with stories from WWII and their own experience of what it was like to work at that time building war ships for America. You could tell that they were still very proud of their part of America's history.
May 2015 we went on another day trip to San Francisco on the Vallejo Ferry. Some people spent a leisurely day shopping and watching the seals at Pier 39. A large group of people ventured off to Fisherman's Wharf and Ghiradelli Square. I know there was some wonderful food and Irish coffee that was consumed at the famous Buena Vista Cafe. Then it was on to Ghiradelli Icecream and Chocolate Shop for some hot fudge sundaes. Oh I forgot! What happens in San Francisco stays in San Francisco!
February 2015 we again hosted a Valentine Tea at Linde Lane Tea Room in Dixon. As usual the tea room was absolutely beautiful and the food was wonderful!
October 2014 we once again chartered a bus and had a excellent trip to the Pacific International Quilt Festival. We didn't quite fill our bus this time but we still had a GREAT time! I think that even though there wasn't quite as many people that went with us as last year the bottom of the bus was carrying even more fabric, notions and quilting supplies than it had in the past.
August 2014 we went on a trip to Sacramento to the Crocker Art Museum to see the exhibit entitled "Work by Hand" Hidden Labor and Historical Quilts. We enjoyed a docent led private tour and then enjoyed lunch at Joe's Crab Shack in Old Sacramento. The quilts and exhibits were spectacular. The day ended with a stop a an Olde Time Candy Shop. Yum!
June 2014 we attended the Stitch N Pitch Game at AT&T Park in San Francisco to watch the Giants versus the San Diego Padres. We each received a orange and black Giants Stitch N Pitch tote bag to remember our outing. Hot dogs, peanuts and popcorn was enjoyed while watching the Giants play.
February 2014, we hosted a Valentine Tea at Linde Lane Tea Room in Dixon. We also enjoyed a small Valentine gift exchange for those who wished to participate. The tearoom was beautiful and the decorations were festive.
Guild members and guests went on a Ferry Trip to San Francisco in December 2013. We went to Pier 39 for a fun day of enjoying the beautiful Holiday decorations and of course shopping! We all had a great time enjoying each others company, shopping, doing lunch and all that fun stuff!
In October 2013 we had a wonderful bus trip to the Pacific International Quilt Festival. We ended up needing a bigger bus and it was completely Full! I think there was a lot of fabric, notions and quilting supplies that made it home with us that evening! We enjoyed Bingo on the bus and lots of great prizes were won by members and friends. Lots of fun notions, fabric, patterns and sewing stuff was purchased that day. The bus definitely had more items on it than it had going there.
We attended baseball game at Raley's Field in Sacramento with the River Cats in June 2013. We enjoyed watching the baseball game while enjoying hot dogs, popcorn and peanuts! Dawn Schwab was the lucky winner of free passes for another game.
